Program Description:
This two-year Ontario College Diploma program provides practical training in traditional and multiplatform journalism. The award-winning Algonquin Times, named Canada`s top campus newspaper in 2015, and Ottawa`s student magazine, Glue, are the primary learning publications in levels two and three of the program.
Students generate story ideas, write and edit copy, create photo and video journalism and produce newscasts for the College radio station, CKDJ.
In the fourth level, students complete field placements at media outlets and learn to operate as freelance journalists.
